Hockey Drill – Centre Ice Drop Pass with Puck Exchange

Hockey Drill – Centre Ice Drop Pass with Puck Exchange

Description

This is a whistle generated hockey drill or timed by the players.  Players line up at opposite adjacent blue lines along the boards, facing into the neutral zone.

On the whistle, the first 2 players (one from each line, blue and red), leave and skate with a puck into and towards the center red line face off circle. In doing this, trying to stationary drop pass the puck, right on the face off circle line, just over the center ice red line.

After both players do their drop passes (with hopefully having the puck stationary), they proceed to skate over to the other side to pick up/retrieve the other player’s  puck, diving wide with it, then cutting towards the net to shoot.

Notes

When drop passing the puck, ensure it is stationary first. Remember to switch sides.
